Have you spent any time perusing Lanvin's lovely selection of carryalls and clutches lately? I was doing some online "research" at Barneys the other day, as well as teasing my bank account in the process, when voilà in comes the perfect version from last season, how can you resist?!

Alber Elbaz is one of my favorites and it's easy to see why with this ruffled cream top. Whether he is designing an evening dress or a t-shirt, his clothing oozes effortless glamour. This piece is last season, new with tags from Barneys. Size large, originally $475. How about 1/2 price?

Bright Eyes

Add some pop to your wardrobe! Although winter still lingers here in Boston, The Closet is full swing into spring. We received this sheer Chanel chiffon top yesterday, and it looks smashing with the deep purple Derek Lam wedges (Size 8) and super high. Accessorize with Lanvin shades and a fluorescent Prada bag SOLD and don't let the weather stand in your way!

Just add Jeans

Choose which shoe you like best and then all you need is a pair of jeans!

A Modern Mary Poppins

Spring is all about mixing fabric, proportion, color, and texture to create a unique look for yourself. Although we stuck to black and white this time, I think it was a success! Ms. Poppins wears a turban hat by Yamamoto, Ann Demeulemeester's cotton print tank, a Margiela ribbon cardigan, voluminous silk Lanvin skirt, and a pair of Costume National sandals. She is carrying a patent Armani bag, and she means business!

Lanvin Flat

Patent flats are a definite must for fall, especially when they are Lanvin. The square toe on this pair makes them a bit more unique, but I'm sure no less comfortable (I can't seem to take mine off!)

Pretty as a Picture

This Prada dress is a TINY Sz 38. It would be great for a fall wedding with those velvet Manolo mary-janes and the Lanvin necklace we posted earlier.

A statement necklace is a must for fall. This one from Lanvin has an elegant art deco look that can work with anything from a white t-shirt to an evening gown.

We have a combination of these two Lanvin dresses from SS 2007! The Closet's version is a smokey grey color, size 40. It has lots of properly placed pockets and zippers, as well as the requisite belt, so your waist will hopefully look as little as Valentina's!

Blue & Cream

This color combination is perfect for summer. I love Balenciaga's pure white version of a chic and modern gladiator sandal. The Lanvin slides will work in Beacon Hill or Nantucket. Finally, Ferragamo's white patent tote can take you from the office to the beach. It's nice to have the idea of a clear bag, without the entire world seeing all your stuff!

Must Try!

I just want to take a moment to remind my fellow shoppers of the importance of trying on a garment, regardless of how it looks on the hanger. Case in point: A couple of weeks ago we received a black silk kimono dress by Lanvin. It had wide dolman sleeves, a big belt, and narrow skirt. I hate to say it, but it looked rather unremarkable. The dress remained on the hanger for a few weeks, NOBODY wanted to try it on! Finally, a smart shopper arrived (from Vermont no less) who was game. It looked AMAZING and went home with her in a matter of minutes. This is a lesson to all of you who have ever looked at a piece of fabric resting carelessly on a plastic frame and thought, "mmmm I don't think so." Please, just try it on. What do you have to lose? The most perfect Lanvin dress is all!
