The LV we posted the other day has a big sister (Suhali Lockit PM) to keep her company! We also have a chocolate brown Jimmy Choo with gold hardware, a metallic purple Tod's, and an olive Bottega Veneta, woven with gold grommets, you know the one!

Silly Karl

I couldn't agree more, in fact, I think I would like a new pet myself! Hee Hee too bad we don't have an example in store at the moment, but who knows?!

Dries Please!

Tired of seeing your handbag on the arms of other girls? I don't think you have to worry about that with this sequined delight from Dries van Noten, a little known label that produces just a small number of items per season. His habit of using the MOST gorgeous materials has made the Belgian's pieces quite coveted at The Closet for a few years now, especially since the man simply refuses to expand his beloved bohemian/intellectual brand. As you can see this is a large bag, but the fabric is a sturdy canvas trimmed with patent leather, so it's not going to weigh you down. I think an iBook would fit nicely in here as well. Pretty much brand new. These Tessuto Gaufre bags are so GREAT because they are super light and have such nice detail. Who will get it first?!

The Closet won the Improper Bostonian's 2008 award for Best Consignment store...yay!

YSL 'Raspail' Tote

We just received a fabulous Yves Saint Laurent tote in black croc-printed patent leather. It is sooo nice and big, but so light. Come in and take a peek. The best of fall is yet to come!

Just in: Chanel Bag!

Lovely classic pink Chanel bag from Spring '06. It is a darling purse. The cloth fabric is printed with iconic designs from the famed French fashion house, featuring mini camellias, perfume bottles, pearls, and the 2.55 (which this bag surely resembles!) The condition is excellent. A perfect addition to your collection!

Hogan Bag

This is a great bag, nice muted olive gray color, practical pockets and messenger handle, what's not to like?! I used to feel like Hogan and Tod's were such different brands, but they seem to be playing off each other more and more. This bag is particularly reminiscent of the Tod's bags seen last season. How much of an influence does Derek Lam have on accessories design? I hope a lot!

Hermes Bag

Hermes leather bag. Brand new...well maybe it was carried once! This picture definitely does not do the bag justice, I can't even really describe the shade of green, but it's quite lovely!

Consignment Finds: Judith Leiber

The most elegant of all evening bags are those by Judith Leiber, who started her company in New York in 1963, and still remains relevant today. The designs range from simple to over the top (you may recall the crystal-encrusted Swan minauderie Carrie received from Big in SATC). Either way, fashionistas alike can appreciate the careful craftsmanship and vintage flair they display, and of course we are grateful to know that the perfect clutch does indeed exist. In the words of Ms. Leiber herself, "Please. Don't thank me. Buy." My favorites are the classic bags seen below...

FENDI

Fendi X Bag from SS 2007. It is constructed out of a light yet durable summery mesh, trimmed in black patent leather, and lined with a cushy black satin. For a bag of this size, it hardly weighs a thing! It retailed for upwards of $1400, but you can get it here for half price.

New Handbag Arrivals

Handbag season has arrived at The Closet! Just this morning we received a shiny new red Goyard (pictured above with a chalk white Proenza Schouler bomber) as well as charming black Bottega Veneta with woven handles. Later on in the afternoon a consignor dropped off a Louis Vuitton Ellipse backpack and a Petit Noe Epi satchel. Who knows what we will get tomorrow!

The Closet gets THE BEST bags of any consignment store I know...it's true that I am terribly bias being as I work for said store, but if anyone has seen these last few handbag posts, I think they will have a hard time disagreeing with me! Pictured above is a soft & slouchy taupe shoulder bag by Chloe, I'm guessing it is a season old at most, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are similar versions still in the stores.

Dreams really do come true! Just last week I was imagining this EXACT bag, and sure enough, it appears in the store, teasing me and my bank account to no end! I had thought to myself, wouldn't it be nice to have a Chanel bag that is small, but not too small; how about one that is black, soft leather, caviar or quilted, who cares! Oh, and the delicate gold  chain strap, that is just a must...come snatch her up before I do!

What a Pretty Window

Think Spring!

I know it was pretty freezing today, but the sun was shining and so was our window. Just take a look at Lauren's lovely woman's display...yellow seems to be one of the colors this season (particularly in the form of a bright & buttery Bottega Veneta handbag it has since sold or golden Ella Moss top). Sure, it's a bit loud, but with an outfit as perfect as this, how can you resist! 

Also be sure to notice the inflatable (yes, you can blow it up) vintage white Ferragamo mini tote, the perfect accessory for a day at the beach...we've also had it in black! I know that summer isn't exactly around the corner, but maybe buying this bag will make it come sooner!
