But this vintage Chanel sold as soon as I had taken the picture. That's the beauty of consignment, you might come in one day and find nothing, but by the following week the store will look completely different. This kind of shopping is totally hit or miss. It was one lucky day for the girl that took this bag home, but the next it could be yours! I had to post this double-sided classic cause I thought it was so special. Which side do you like better?

This one is a Sz 42, so it fits like an American 8 or 10. The best thing about it is that the jacket is lightly lined in a sheer black silk, so it can be worn all year round. It is kinda perfect!

Shoe Parade

Every now and then a rainy day can be a blessing in disguise. The torrential downpours kept the majority of people inside and off Newbury Street yesterday, which enabled us to unpack and tag over 50 pairs of the most wonderful Italian shoes. We have Manolos and Marni as well as Prada sandals, Chanel mules, and many more. They are mostly size 37.5/38.

Inventory Update!

The Closet has the BEST consignors, we can't say it enough. Some choice items received this morning in the accessories department include 2 Burberry nova check totes, an oversize Chanel clutch/agenda, and Louis Vuitton's Mandara GM in mandarin epi. On the clothing side we have a fab Issey Miyake black ruffled jacket,a pair of white Chanel jeans from Cruise '08, and a Stella McCartney black mini dress. Come enjoy our AC and have a look around!

Just in: Chanel Bag!

Lovely classic pink Chanel bag from Spring '06. It is a darling purse. The cloth fabric is printed with iconic designs from the famed French fashion house, featuring mini camellias, perfume bottles, pearls, and the 2.55 (which this bag surely resembles!) The condition is excellent. A perfect addition to your collection!

Best of The Closet Boston

Moschino is one of those labels that I have a love/hate relationship with. In the early days of my fashion education (in the fashionless state of Maine), anything "Made in Italy" was ok with me, but as the years passed, I began to develop an allergy to the loud and in your face labels (Versace, Escada, etc) that has crept their way onto the racks. However, as the seasons passed and my tastes matured, I developed an appreciation for the brands that paved the way for a manner of dressing that is both playful and stylish. This jacket demonstrates how Moschino has stayed true to its roots (classic with a twist) while remaining modern and cheeky (inspired by Chanel much?!) Enjoy!

"Why would anyone ever give this up?" is the question that many of the visitors to our shop ask. Well, in this case I really have no idea, but I like to think that the original owner found something that suited them better (although I can't imagine how an evening bag could be any more perfect!)

Coming to Boston this weekend? If you're quick enough you can get your hands on a rather lovely Chanel pochette in bronze quilted leather with a silver chain strap. It will not last! In fact it has SOLD We also have loads of new Bottega, Louis Vuitton, and perhaps a Prada. Happy Shopping!

Black & White

From a collection of Louis Vuitton noir epi handbags & wallets to the chalky Rick Owens leather jacket we received, black and white were the colors of the day. In fact, we have a Rick Owens slinky leather jacket in black as well, take your pick! One of my favorite new pieces was a black & white cropped jacket by Tibi with puff sleeves and the original tags intact. The Chanel Cambon tote in black quilted leather is also quite tempting, see above!

Little Black Bag

Dreams really do come true! Just last week I was imagining this EXACT bag, and sure enough, it appears in the store, teasing me and my bank account to no end! I had thought to myself, wouldn't it be nice to have a Chanel bag that is small, but not too small; how about one that is black, soft leather, caviar or quilted, who cares! Oh, and the delicate gold  chain strap, that is just a must...come snatch her up before I do!

Here is a picture I took on Monday of the Chanel window on Newbury Street...Does this lovely clutch look at all familiar? It should! We had it in red just last week! It has since sold, but I just wanted everyone to know how on top of things we are here at The Closet!
