This never worn pair from Proenza Schouler (perhaps a season old) are snug and flattering on the leg. If you are a size 36, they should fit your foot like a glove. Jealous! At first I wasn't so sure of the ankle boot, but I have fallen in love. They are versatile and fun, plus you can pull off a fierce yet feminine look.

Gossip Girl is a total guilty pleasure, entertainment wise, but as a fashion resource, the show is a gold mine. The stylists do such a nice job dressing their characters and it's fun to be able to recognize certain pieces in their wardrobes. I watched the Thanksgiving episode the other night and was quite taken with metallic tweed coat worn by Serena. I had to track it down. The garment seemed familiar, and I realized I had admired it on the back of a customer the week before. At first I thought it had to be Chanel, but it was from Jane Mayle's Fall 2008 collection. Click to look #12 and you will know what I'm talking about, but you might also want the whole collection. Maybe someone will by one in the wrong size and then consign it at The Closet?!

But this vintage Chanel sold as soon as I had taken the picture. That's the beauty of consignment, you might come in one day and find nothing, but by the following week the store will look completely different. This kind of shopping is totally hit or miss. It was one lucky day for the girl that took this bag home, but the next it could be yours! I had to post this double-sided classic cause I thought it was so special. Which side do you like better?

Consignment Reminder: Holiday Outifts

Now is the time to take a look in YOUR closet (before you get too busy with the holidays and all that buying for others) and see what doesn't belong. Here's a good rule: If you didn't wear it the past two seasons, you are probably not going to again.

With less than two months left of 2008, I also know you are not going to be wearing the same thing you did for last years festivities. Time to say goodbye and bring it to The Closet.
