Everything Etro

Etro is a very popular brand here at The Closet, so luckily we get quite a bit of it, although the merchandise never lasts long. The Italian company is best known for a flattering combination of exquisite colors and unique prints that are very hard to resist...come see for yourself!

Toast of the Town

Hooray Mad Men won the Emmy for Best Drama! I think it is the best show on television right now, so if you are not watching it yet, you had better catch up. The main reason I find it so appealing is the authenticity and attention to detail that makes me feel like I am going back in time. Of course the flawless costumes only add further validity to the talented ensemble cast. Just look at this example from
Vanity Fair. One of my favorite characters is sultry office manager Joan Holloway (dressed in emerald green above) and played impeccably by Christina Hendricks. I think she would look stunning in this marigold chiffon evening dress from Neiman Marcus and vintage-inspired Coach purple satin coat (new with tags, originally $1500!) Time for cocktails!

Nanette Lepore just came into our store!
and she bought something! I read
this article in the
WSJ yesterday, so I knew it was her. She has a boutique right up the street and was just visiting Boston for the day. We get some of her pieces here at The Closet, but I think people tend to like them so much they rarely give them up!

Cute Dress

I don't care what people say about the demise of the baby doll, this Hanii Y design is proof that a mini is still darling. Also you can see from the stack of boxes in the picture that we are getting LOTS of shipments which means our inventory is changing daily so you MUST come in often!

Silly Karl
"Women who carry the 2.55 don't need style advice about how to carry it. It is so casual and so friendly, you don't need a lesson. It's your pet!" --Karl Lagerfeld in the October issue of
Bazaar. I couldn't agree more, in fact, I think I would like a new pet myself! Hee Hee too bad we don't have an example in store at the moment, but who knows?!

Lanvin Flat

Patent flats are a definite must for fall, especially when they are Lanvin. The square toe on this pair makes them a bit more unique, but I'm sure no less comfortable (I can't seem to take mine off!)
Labels: ballerina flat, lanvin
Bright Eyes

There is no need to return to our all black habits now that the cold air is here and a coat is required!
Labels: louis vuitton, marc jacobs

We haven't had a Chloe bag in a while, let alone two of them! The Edith is a classic fall tote, throw on a thick cashmere sweater, some skinny jeans and a pair of boots and you are good to go. The Paddington speaks for itself...there is a reason it remains an it bag!

Pretty as a Picture

This Prada dress is a TINY Sz 38. It would be great for a fall wedding with those velvet Manolo mary-janes and the Lanvin necklace we posted earlier.
