It's also nice to know that even fancy famous people wear things that are more than a season old (and I have to say it looks much more chic than some of the ensembles she has been sporting recently!) Please no more peg-leg jeans!

Fall Update

Fall is in full swing at The Closet. We are receiving hundreds of pieces of new inventory every day. Just this morning we put out items by Rick Owens, Dries van Noten, Lucien Pellat-Finet (the best cashmere ever), and The Row.



Please keep in mind if you would like to consign, an appointment is much appreciated as our space is small and we need to regulate how many pieces we take in each day.

I just finished reading "Bringing Home The Birkin" by Michael Tonello (a Massachusetts native and friend of The Closet). The book was brought to us by a very thoughtful customer and it is quite a fun story, told with a lot of charm and honesty. This is a perfect vacation read, it will make you laugh out loud, but it also might make you want to go shopping. For me it was an eye opening look into the world of Hermes, and I have to admit, I really want a Birkin now haha. Got any left Michael?

LA LA Land

I made my first trip to the West Coast this past weekend, it was awesome! The hotel where I stayed in West Hollywood (the Chamberlain, sooo nice) was within walking distance of the only two shops I was really hoping to visit. At Decades (8214 Melrose) I bragged to Cameron Silver upstairs in the vintage section about The Closet (couldn't resist, and yes, he had heard of us) and later I took my time perusing the perfectly edited consignment boutique below. Further down the block at Resurrection Vintage (8006 Melrose) I tried a beautiful YSL printed linen frock, but it didn't quite zip. They also had a gorgeous Zandra Rhodes purple and aqua chiffon gown that was very tempting. It is always fun to see the different types of resale shops that exist, but I still think The Closet is the best one.

Classic Chanel Tweed Jacket

This one is a Sz 42, so it fits like an American 8 or 10. The best thing about it is that the jacket is lightly lined in a sheer black silk, so it can be worn all year round. It is kinda perfect!

Duffy!

We saw Duffy at the Wilbur last night! She put on a great show and seemed to really like Boston, or at least just saying "Boston" in her sweet Welsh accent. She rocked a polka dot romper and a pair of fiery patent pumps. I must say Duffy is quite the pinup, but all I want to know is where she got her heels!
